Tammy Shaklee

Tammy Shaklee is the Founder and President of He’s For Me, the private, offline and personal matchmaking service designed exclusively for select gay professionals seeking a long-term relationship.

Tammy received her BA in RTVF News & Public Affairs with a minor in Political Science.  She’s a Midwestern farm girl turned broadcast journalist, then district director for a Texas State Senator turned Ambassador to Sweden. After Leadership Texas, she followed her passion for mentoring in replicating a national mentoring program to save high school kids from dropping out, raised money for philanthropy, then saved a Texas chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America as its CEO.  Happily married and without kids, she volunteers in leadership, historic preservation, hosts a monthly salon of media-savvy women, blogs, and is working on her first book titled, “Men & Maniacs.”

As a former broadcast journalist, political director, and nonprofit CEO, she herself reached out to an offline matchmaking service as a busy professional.  After moving to Austin, Texas 10 years ago, she relied on experts to search and find quality and professional men with mutual long-term relationship goals.  She left the details to matchmakers, and would find or make time to dedicate to introductory lunch dates.  Through two years of satisfying and extraordinary introductions, and some great friendships, she finally met her match when it came to chemistry, interests, and the love of life and entertainment.  He was everything she had asked for through the matchmaking process.

Now happily married, she has convinced dear friends, colleagues, and even acquaintances to take dating “offline” and hire the experts that make searching for the right one easy, confidential, and rewarding. That’s when she was approached by a fellow Leadership Texas colleague, to discuss their mutual success with matchmaking, only to realize some of their dearest friends, also looking for love, had no offline matchmaking options.

Combining more than 20 years in leadership, three high profile career industries, and a zest for love and happiness, Tammy researched, conducted confidential focus groups, interviews, and solicited the help of experts.  Together with supporters of and pioneers in the LGBT community, the one-on-one matchmaking service for gay professional men launched in Austin, Texas in 2012.
